On the 20th of January we went to the Norfolk Restoration Show at the Norwich Showground, this is basically a classic car auction, with Autojumble, a few trade stands, and some club stands. Main interest for myself was an Audi Quattro and a Grinnal in the Auction, the Audi made a lot of money and the Grinnal did not sell, reaching only £3750, below the reserve.

Bank Holiday Monday 5th May - Broadland MG Owners Club Heritage Run
A great event this, whilst it starts from the same point each year, the finish is a secret until you get your route map, which is very well put together with all junctions marked as diagrams in the road book, including distances. This year the Run ended at Sandringham, with a good route around North Norfolk, along the coast for a while, before turning inland, there was a nice section through a private stately home, and through a deerpark. The event is well attended, we where car 161. the weather was glorious, in contrast to last year. The cars all lined op in Sandringham Park which was a great site. There was reduced entry to Sandringham House, Museum, which contains some interesting "Royal" cars.

5th/6th June 2008 - TR Drivers Club National 2008
Great to see 70+ TR7's at the TRDC National Weekend held at Billing Aquadrome, Northampton, it was good to put faces to many Triumph TR7.com forum names. Saturday was the best weather, very windy, but sunny . A good 35 mile road run was held round some lovely Northants roads and villages with a pub stop at the Falcon, Castle Ashby. Saturday evening there was a quiz, which was very hard, followed by some good Triumph Video Footage. Sunday was quite drizzly, but 70 cars turned out on display, some intersting machines, including displays of Pre-prod and production TR8's and 4 Rallys Cars. Beer and Food was available in the marquee, and Rimmers, Robsport, and S&S attended with spares. 10 cars where chosen for pride of ownership awards, and the car of the show was an awesome V8 4,5 litre convertible. Thanks to all who attended.

We displayed 4 Triumphs at Schole Village Fete as one of our members was organising the fete. Typical British summer day, overcast mainly, some sun. Opened by Rick Wakeman of Yes fame, decent guy, he went round all the stalls and novelty games with a pocketful of pound coins, paid up, and tried everything, chatted to everyone, not your usual stuffed celebrity. Showed interest in the cars on show too.
Good line up of classic cars for a local village fete.

31st August 2008 - Norfolk Police Gala - Norwich Show Ground
Again a very good event, blessed with great weather, a few of us got burnt in the sun as we where unprepared after a the rest of the awful August weather. We had 19 cars on the Club Triumph stand, would have been 20 but some jobsworth stopped Glen in his TR7 V8 4ltr even though he was in the ground before the site roads where shutdown at 10-30. Plenty to do and see as usual, good demonstrations by the police dog handlers, underwater searches, and plenty of road and safety info and advice by the police.
While waiting at the gate the officer directing in show cars told me there was around 1500 classic and sporting cars through the gate.
